In Minorita civic association
Since 2005, the In Minorita civic association has been addressing the theme of the Romani Holocaust. The project bears the name Ma bisteren!, which in Roma means "Do not Forget!".
The aim of the project is to commemorate the persecution that the Roma were exposed to during the Second World War. It proves that it is very important to use this topic in the formation of public opinion and to try to eliminate the negative stereotypes aimed at questioning historical events, deepening racial intolerance and expressions of xenophobia.
The authors of the concept are Zuzana Kumanová, PhD. and PhDr. Arne Mann, CSc.
The activities of the project cover a broad-spectrum, from research through publishing, presentation and educational activities to various target groups and media activities and education.
Part of the project is the organization of a commemorative act on the occasion of the Romani Holocaust Memorial Day (August 2), which has been held regularly since 2005 at the SNP Museum in Banská Bystrica.
